How to get students to vote..
There have been many times where I seen people around campuses ask students who are rushing to class if they are registered to vote or have voted. Students either ignore them and keep walking or tell them they’re in a rush to get to class and don’t have time to talk about it. There are a few ways to avoid this and get more college students to vote beginning with classroom registration. Hearing a faculty member or peer give a short presentation, walking them through the registration process and collecting completed forms in a classroom can increase registration and voter turnouts. Also email registration drives, where it is more convenient and voters can be mobilized outside the classroom. It can be done at home, at lunch/break or anywhere that works for the student. Students are busy and sometimes, they feel it is inconvenient, they don’t have time, they have other obligations, so mobilizing registration and voting or giving them an opportunity at a place where they spend most of their time such as their college campuses, can get many numbers up.
