Make Your Own Toiletries at Home
How much money do
you spend for toiletries? Are you looking for some toothpaste that can whiten
your teeth? Would you like a facial cleanser that can reduce acne? Do you believe shower gel can keep your skin
soft? People always can hear those things from toiletries advertisements, but
let’s think about this question—since these toiletries will only stay on our
skin no more than one minute, how can they play these roles effectively?
Have you thought
about instead of using those toiletries with mysterious and useless ingredients
that you can make your own ones? You can make your own toiletries with natural
and simple ingredients—you will only consume what you need for cleaning, no
more waste of unnecessary materials.
Toothpaste
2/3 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon fine sea
salt
1-2 teaspoon
peppermint extract
filtered water
Put baking soda,
sea salt and peppermint into a container. Mix them together, stir it and add
water to them until it reaches desired consistency.
Facial Cleanser
1/4 cup dry rolled
oats
1 tea bag of
chamomile tea
I teaspoon
bentonite clay
Use a grinder to
grind rolled oats and chamomile tea into powder. Mix the powder with bentonite
clay well and put it in a container.
Tip: This cleanser
can’t work as makeup remover. It is a gentle cleanser.
Shampoo
1/2 cup distilled
water
1/4 cup liquid
castile soap
2 teaspoons avocado
oil
1/8 teaspoon
peppermint extract
1/8 teaspoon tea
tree oil
Mix all ingredients
in a container that you like. You also can add 10 to 15 drops of essential oils
that you like to add fragrance.
Body Wash
1/2 cup liquid
castile soap
1/2 cup optional
ingredients
It depends on your
skin type. For example, if you have very dry skin, you can try to use raw
honey. Half cup liquid castile soap and half cup raw honey, add a few drops of
essential oil if you like, then mix all together. If you have acne on your
body, you can try add a few drops tea tree oil in your body wash. And we done!
You can try different combinations to see which one works best for your
skin—they are natural ingredients that you even can eat them, don’t
be afraid to try them out.
