Fighting the Microbes: The History of Antibiotics
Is a great film that discusses the history and where antibiotics began and why. “Throughout most of human history infectious germs have caused death until Dr. Alexander Fleming's discovery of penicillin. The production and use of penicillin in the U.S. plays a key role in saving many lives during World War II.” Majority of the time in the past amputating the limb was more important then risking the infection. This obviously created the need to find something to fight those infections.
