Broken Education System

As we are entering the current voting process on the US presidential position we come to look as to who is voting and who is not voting. The population that is largely made up of public-school students. As the standards for the schools that have taught them have made it so that they have left the school system not fully knowing that the need to know the basic civic knowledge that will allow them to have direction as to who is delegating their taxes and where they lives will revolve around. The facts are that most of the population will say that they have the ability to pass a basic civic test to keep them in a stable environment. As most of them will fail, like 83 percent of them will fail and this is the failure of our public education not looking out for our governmental systems and our future.

The rest of the population that fills the gap between the educated and not voting are the ones that are anti-science, anti-intellectual and mob mentality. So we get voters who go with what they feel as everyone else is voting and they aren’t thinking for themselves and bettering our country. The teachers that fill these positions are often not able to teach a class room effectively or have expert understanding of the topic they are teaching. The boards that look at the budget cuts that are in action to keep the schools running are only looking at the core necessities that keep kids on track and able to graduate and the need to understand political systems and voting have been not funded and it shows. As this is the result of failed schools in the past that did not focus on these topics and it is a cycle that is affecting the current situation and reinforcing the same problem.

As most student go about their lives they are not focused on learning outside topics about the world and are focused on other prospects that will further their financial progress and have not looked to school to rely on to get them in a stable position. The school system is so far behind that the standard way we teach a student is no longer a guaranteed financial success or a career success as there are people who are going out of their way to go the non-standard route to stay a-float and are going above and beyond. So the time allocated to focus on these “standard” topics that everyone should know is not covered in school is instead focused to keep them with food and shelter and a successful lifestyle and these topics are forgotten and the result is a poor political system because schools are failing a lot of the growing population. For example, a lot of the non-traditional routes like social media and life pleasures have taken over. It all comes down to the ignorance of these core systems that we are in this situation that most of all the current systems are out of date that they no longer apply to todays processes.
