Social Media plays one of the most influential parts in our society. Young adults will use Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and many other apps on their phones for many different reasons. They can be used for up to date news, seeing what friends and family are doing, or catching up with people. It is definitely used as a way to follow what celebrities or models are doing nowadays rather than waiting for TMZ to show us what they are doing.

Social media can create new opportunities for us as well. We build new communication skills and find new people every day through these platforms. It can create new jobs like streaming and the Esports world to posting and letting the public see how people play games. People can become brand influencers or show off their brands and gain exposure from social media also. So there is plenty of opportunity to grow and it can be beneficial to having social media to our society. It gets tricky when people abuse social media and are always on it. Social media can also cause a lot of drama and depression to us from Cyberbullying, social anxiety, depression from seeing peers and models trying to look like them, and even isolation. Social media hurts us if we abuse what it is for. We are left to think about what people post and how it can affect a young person's mind. Social media is huge for mental health problems now because we reflect on how people look or think about one another and it makes the other person feel even worse because they are comparing themselves to a lifestyle they don't have or want.

The good thing about all of this is that it can be avoided if necessary. YOU just have to be the one to turning it all off or taking out what you think is bad. Limit yourself, stay off of social media, create a healthier diet for yourself, create a better environment for yourself and your mental health state. There are fillers for apps now that can turn them off at a certain time now. Iphones have a screen time app that tells you how much you use your phone or stay on an app. All of this easily avoidable if you just think correctly and can make the mature move to getting rid of all the negativity.
