World Environment Day!

Monday June 5th is World Environment Day, the United Nations’ flagship day
for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. It is the official day to go outside, celebrate nature and consider how you can give back to the environment.

Why celebrate World Environment Day?
To inform:
It’s through the bold and inspiring actions of individuals that change happens. So whether it is acting locally to address an issue within the community or running at a big idea nationally, your actions will inspire others to follow and can make a major difference.
Be part of a global movement:
There are over 4,000 events taking place for June 5th. Your support is what makes people stand up and take notice of the day.

World Environment Day is the United Nations’ most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global event that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries. The theme for 2017 is connecting people to nature.

Things to do:
Make today the day you choose a sustainable lifestyle.
Take a close look at your energy usage and reliance on unsustainable products then make a list of ways you can minimize your unsustainable activities and habits and replace them with sustainable ones.

Get involved in a conservation, restoration, or local eco-community project. Today is a great day to sign up and get involved with people who are making a difference locally and globally.

If you're not already into the reduce, reuse, recycle, habit, today is the day to make it a part of your daily life.
