Fall Vegetables

As the summer is wrapping up, it's important to know what certain vegetables are going to be growing in the upcoming fall.

Here are some upcoming fall vegetables to look out for and how you can cook them!

Cabbage: Not to be confused with lettuce, cabbages go well with almost anything. For a good meal that uses cabbages, I would recommend a cabbage soup or a simple stir fry with cabbage, bacon, and onions.

Carrots: Similarly to cabbages, carrots tend to grow any time of the year. Even though they grow every time of the year, they are the best during the fall because farmers tend to plant them near the end of the summer. For a good carrot recipe I would recommend roasted carrots. It's very simple to make and also very flavorful!

Potatoes: Potatoes grow almost all year round, but they have the most flavor during the fall season. One of the best ways to eat a potato is to bake them. Another good recipe is roasted potatoes. Quickly season the potatoes with oil, salt, and pepper for an easy meal!

Cauliflower: Cauliflower is the freshest in the fall simply because they don't produce heads during the hot summer weather. One of the best ways to eat cauliflower is to make a soup. You can simply add more flavor to the soup by adding carrots and celery!

Turnips: Turnips have a very strong flavor and they are very versatile. They go almost well with any roasted recipes or soups, as well as with mashed potatoes! For a good roasted turnip meal, simply roast the turnips with carrots and potatoes, and add oil, salt and pepper for simple flavor.
