Choosing convenience while eating sustainably

Eating sustainably can feel like such a daunting task to take on. Everybody loves convenience, but convenient food choices may mean unhealthy food choices. However, for people who want convenience AND sustainability, there are still options. The biggest one that comes to mind would be restaurants that have committed to sustainable foods without additives and preservatives – such as Chipotle, as one example. If sustainability is important to you, choosing to give your business to restaurants that devote themselves to being sustainable is a great option, and something you can easily accomplish without much effort. Some efforts to be sustainable that restaurants may easily accomplish include recyclable packaging, purchasing ingredients locally whenever possible, water saving faucets, and donating all unused food at the end of the night instead of throwing it out. These are very practical efforts that most restaurants could accomplish if faced with customers who insist upon it.
