Greenhouse Gases

The high levels of greenhouse gases are detrimental to the environment because things such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide become trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere and lead to global warming. Earth naturally creates greenhouse gases and these are beneficial, it is the production from man that is the issue. Greenhouse gases have increased exponentially since 1970, about 80% of this is mainly attributed to the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. This global warming leads to stronger storms, a rise in sea levels, and an increase in melting of snow and ice. Couple this with the pollution and the depletion of our ozone layer and it’s a recipe for disaster.
