Sustainability is not only about driving a hybrid car or recycling garbage. Sustainability means doing more with less. Driving more mileage with less fuel is one example of sustainability. But, how can we achieve this? Architect William McDonough and Chemist Michael Braungart have written a revolutionary new book in which they introduced the concept of Cradle to Cradle. According to this concept, people need to adopt a cradle-to-cradle way of manufacturing that is as effective as nature itself in maintaining sustainability. The focus of this concept is for us to use nature itself as a model for manufacturing.

  1. "Doing more with less" sounds like a great slogan! It would be interesting to have people post to a forum with ways that they "do more with less" in their daily lives. For example, I don't use paper towels anymore, but instead use dish cloths. I also re-use egg cartons, and buy household products in bulk, or make it myself!
