Movie Night

Are you looking for ways to have conversations with your friends and family about food, health, and the economy? A movie night is a casual way to introduce the topic. As of this posting all three of the following documentaries are streaming on Netflix.

Forks over Knives is a 2011 film that educates about and advocates a whole foods, plant-based diet for the purpose of combating a number of diseases that are linked to a primarily meat-based diet.

Food, Inc. is a 2008 film that looks at corporate farming in the United State. It shows how big agribusiness produces food that is harmful to the environment, livestock and employees.

Fresh is a 2009 film focuses on sustainable agriculture, and tells the stories of farmers, activists, and entrepreneurs who are changing America's food system.
