POLICE BRUTALITY, NATIONS OUT CRY?

WE COME IN PEACE?

BY GABRIEL CONTRERAS

I think by now we have been seeing that there is a lot more excessive force that police deals with within the communities they are helping to grow. My understanding is how is this helping to build those relationships with the same communities they help protect? The bond is broken, and the trust isn't there.

Falsely lying about ending one's life because you didn't take the time to know those communities you help with. Having an itchy finger because you are uncomfortable and don't know how to handle the situation. And the outcry of killing a man for not asking questions, have been a kill now ask questions later mentality.

Whatever the case may be, I think we can all agree on that something needs to happen with accountability that's going on the nation. Having people counting there blessing each time an office stop them, doesn't sound like a healthy relationship to me. So taking it to the next step is possibly having a reform happening across the nation. it's not even close for the killings that happen on POC but its a step in the right direction. Taking accountability to some of these officers that think that they are the judge, law, and executioner.

Officer do deal in very stressful environments I understand, but when I see an officer in these environments, I think that possibly someone's life in the line. Instead of deescalating the situation before it gets worse. Having the proper training to talk and view the situation in another lens. Because I for one are tired to see all these senseless killings with no accountability and end goal. How an officer can get away with shooting a man in the car while pulling out his wallet. While his daughter and wife are in the car it's just tragic.
